For Kamden's birthday I got to try and take pictures of him. He wasn't the most cooperative-- but that is okay. Kinsee had a great time!

My Mom

Well the "anniversary" of Mom's passing is next Monday. I always seem to get worked up about such things the week or two ahead. So, on this nice sunny Sunday morning my thoughts have turned to her.
When I got my hair trimmed on Fri. my stylist said that next year the family should make a memory jar-- each of us write down our favorite memories and at Christmas take time to read them together. (So that is my goal-- and my plug to try and get my brother to come see us again next Christmas.)
I will share a few of my memories.
1. Birthdays-- My Mom knew how to make birthdays special. It could be by decorating the cake in some special way-- or making my favorite meal-- one year I got to go on a scavenger hunt for all of my presents--BEFORE School!!!
2. I remember one day Mom got a card from a friend-- and she cried! I never knew people could cry out of happiness!
3. My Mom would have a song for ANY phrase we would say. She was always singing as she made dinner or was doing whatever it was she was doing. She would sing so loud at church! I kept telling myself that I would not sing that loud-- or have a song for everything-- but I catch myself now and then!
4. Mom loved having the neighborhood kids at our house. She would take us to Coronado Heights, the water park in Wichita (once a summer!) and anywhere else we wanted to go.
5. Summers were spent at the pool-- she was always there reading--and always had quarters on hand for snow cones.
6. My mom always had the softest skin.
Well there are a few of my memories. I sure miss my mom-- but I know she is still watching over this family!

New Year

I keep hoping something fun will happen so I have something AWESOME to tell... alas live is just normal. I have had a health issue as of late. My jaw has decided to be locked for the last week. I can only open my mouth 1/2 way. It makes eating big bites...or normal bites for that matter-- more challenging. I was having headaches and pain from it, but I went to a "chiropractor" on Monday. She isn't the crack you back in place type. She massaged a few pressure points in my back and jaw. It made my headache go away.. but left my body so SORE for 2 days. Odd, but that's the way that goes. I will see her tomorrow and see if my jaw won't open more.
Work is slowly getting better. I did not get both paychecks in Dec., but things should be better now. I have been able to go into work a little later. That helps me exercise... some.
